In 2014, DWA and DVGW introduced the worksheet A 161 / GW 312 "Static calculation of jacking pipes". This set of rules determines the maximum permissible jacking force for trenchless installed pipes. The focus of the standard is on pipes installed by mining methods, where pipes are pressed in their longitudinal direction during installation. In contrast, in HDD, the product pipes are pulled and therefore under tension in their axial direction. This lecture presents the boundary conditions and the structural verifications required from an engineering point of view.
